Who we are

Pennsway Power Squadron is a non-profit organization composed of approximately 90 men and woman who are interested in promoting boating safety. Most of our members live in eastern Pennsylvania in an area north of Philadelphia which stretches from Norristown to Bensalem. Our northern limit is Doylestown.

Our Goals

We promote boating safety through a number of programs. Our primary focus is to educate the public and our members. We do this by teaching boating related courses and seminars. We also serve the public by performing vessel safety checks in the same way as do our Coast Guaard Auxiliary friends. In addition we help NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) by participating in a program called Cooperative Charting. Our members submit information to NOAA to help the keep the nautical charts up-to-date.

Our History

We were formed in 1976 as an offshoot of the Delaware River Power Squadron, the squadron which encompasses Philadelphia.
